On Saturday I had a perfect opportunity to enjoy the Rail Replacement service in around Basildon town centre last Saturday with a friend of mine. We was spoilt for choice of buses to photograph and video on the rail replacement service between Pitsea and Upminster the first of which being Havering Coaches Volvo B9TL Wright Eclipse Gemini 2 BCT0119 LX60DXJ which was new to Go-Ahead London in 2012 and was sold to havering in 2015.  The Second Volvo B9TL that Havering own is Ex-Tower Transit Volvo B9TL Wright Eclipse Gemini 2 BCT0221 BJ11DZY which was new to Tower Transit in 2011 and was sold to Havering Coaches in 2022 after being used with First Essex in 2021. This example was on layover in the bus station at the time of this photo.

Stephenson's New Bus finally returns!

Over the half term holiday (Thursday & Friday) I was lucky enough to go and see and ride on for the first time in public service was Stephenson's of Essex (Rochford) based Scania N250UD Enviro 400 MMC 621 EU23BZL which for three days operated service 24 Southend-Southchurch Archer Avenue.  I was very impressed with how the bus performed it rode very smoothly and I hope to ride on it very soon at either shows or in public service again.  621 EU23BZL pictured on Thursday 22nd Feb at a very wet Whittingham Avenue.  On Friday I had the pleasure of seeing 621 again as I popped back into Southend to meet my friend and we both decided to go on this beauty again after doing 2 rounds of service 17 Leigh-on-sea station-Southend Travel Centre on another bus which I'll post about soon.
